Over the years I've realized that my core service is helping people navigate what they have banished to the "invisible realms."
The spirit realm, non-ordinary reality, the psychic waters -- these are all terms for the non-physical substrate of existence. This "unseen world" pervades everything, and influences our physical, ordinary reality greatly.
Why would you resist accessing these invisible realms?
You may think, "the physical realm is complicated enough as it is." You may have a fear of being overwhelmed; the spirit realm feels "threatening" in some way. Or if you're courageous enough to acknowledge its existence, you may actually feel even MORE fear coming from your confusion about how to navigate the unseen world in a "safe" way.
What I've found is the biggest barrier to clients accessing the unseen realms is their fear of what they would have to feel if they were more transparent with themselves: specifically, you'd have to experience the humility that you do not currently understand everything that is going on.
Most people are very committed to their habitual perception of reality; there is an arrogance in this. When we learn to talk with our ancestors and/or our animals, we steadily chip away at our own arrogance (i.e., our fixed, rigid of beliefs about "how things are"; this can also be referred to as "spiritual ignorance.")
I've personally found great freedom and power in allowing myself to consciously and humbly engage in the great mystery of the unseen realms over and over again -- by putting my own pride on the altar.
The process of communing with the ancestors and animals also enables us to access our shadow (that which has been banished to unconsciousness), which has tremendous benefits in terms of reclaiming our lost power. As my husband Joshua likes to say, "fear is inverted power."
